The sustainable transport campaign

The sustainable transport campaign is part of the NZ Transport Strategy. Sustainable transport is now a key area due to increases in carbon dioxide (C02) levels and harmful pollutants such as carbon monoxide, acidic nitrogen and sulphur oxides poisoning our environment.

There is also more congestion on our roads and some resources are becoming limited and more costly.

The campaign focuses on two areas:

• travel choice
• emissions.

Funding

To support the Land Transport NZ sustainable transport advertising campaign, the Government provides funding of approximately $1.5 million per year.
