Applying for authority to issue alternative fuels certification

To be appointed as an Inspecting Organisation authorised to inspect and certify vehicles for alternative fuels certification, the inspecting organisation must:

  1. meet the requirements for inspection premises and equipment, and
  2. be fit and proper (section 2.6 of the Rule). The criteria considered with any application include:
    1. relevant criminal convictions
    2. transport related offences
    3. relevant warnings, penalties and disciplinary actions imposed
    4. relevant complaints
    5. the public interest and land transport safety, and
  3. employ an approved vehicle inspector for the classes of vehicles that will be inspected.

In order to be considered for authorisation to become an alternative fuels certification organisation, you will need to complete an application and provide payment of the regulatory application fee ($526.20), plus a fee of $95.40 for each certifier.
