Law changes affecting commercial operators and drivers
Law changes being introduced from October 2007 will affect most commercial drivers and operators (passenger service, goods service, vehicle recovery service and rental vehicle service industries).
New requirements resulting from the law changes include new processes for calculating and recording hours worked, measures to improve operator identification and performance of drivers and operators. There are also tougher requirements for those entering the industry.
Government has also approved changes to Transport Service Licence (TSL) fees.
