Who needs a transport service licence?

You must have a transport service licence to operate a goods service, passenger service, vehicle recovery service or rental service.

You can apply for a transport service licence in person at your nearest Land Transport New Zealand regional office or by mail, provided the form is signed and witnessed by a Justice of the Peace, solicitor or a person authorised to make statutory declarations.
