A new Manual for traffic control devices is being developed by Land Transport NZ to replace many existing New Zealand-based
resources, in particular the Manual of Traffic Signs and Markings.
This first volume, in a planned series of 16 volumes being prepared for publication, covers parking control. Based on existing
law the parking control guideline will fill a long-standing information gap. The working group overseeing the guideline includes
representatives of local government, NZ Parking Association, Ministry of Transport and NZ Automobile Association.
To ensure industry needs are met, we are now seeking comment on the draft. Feedback received will not only inform the development
of the guideline but may also form a basis for future amendment of the Land Transport (Road User) Rule and Land Transport
Rule: Traffic Control Devices.
The deadline for submissions is 27 July 2007.
