Physical works and professional services procurement procedures

Please note: Consultation closed on 1 June 2007

Land Transport NZ is conducting a review of its procurement procedures for professional services and physical works, and is seeking responses to a consultation document from the New Zealand land transport sector. Feedback is sought on the key issues to be addressed by the review, the proposed guiding principles for procurement, and the proposed initiatives and actions that have been identified so far.

The key drivers for the review are to ensure that the procurement procedures are aligned with the Land Transport Management Act 2003 (LTMA) and to address opportunities for achieving value for money spent by approved organisations in the current market environment. Land Transport NZ’s role, under section 25 of the LTMA, is to approve ‘procurement procedures that are designed to obtain the best value for money spent by approved organisations and persons, having regard to the purpose of’ the LTMA, which is ‘to contribute to the aim of achieving an integrated, safe, responsive and sustainable land transport system’.

All stakeholders in the land transport sector have indicated a strong willingness to participate in the Review, and Land Transport NZ welcomes the continued support of the land transport sector through this consultation process.

  • Details of the consultation are contained in the consultation document (also in PDF, 220 KB)
  • You can provide feedback using the online consultation questionnaire (the questionnaire is also available in the PDF version of the consultation document).
