Will I be sent a reminder that my licence is going to expire?

Land Transport New Zealand will send you a reminder notice and a driver licence renewal form a few weeks before your driver licence expires.

Older drivers will also be sent information on the older driver practical test.

What should I do if I have moved since getting my driver licence?

If you have changed your address since your last renewal, you'll need to inform Land Transport New Zealand of your new address if you wish to receive a renewal reminder.

What should I do if I don't get a licence renewal reminder?

If, for any reason, you don't get a reminder from us, it is your responsibility to go to a driver licensing agent and renew your licence before it expires.
