What's in this statistics section?

• Road deaths: weekly statistics on road deaths, weekly fatal crashes and deaths by region.  Monthly and annual road crash statistics are available on the Ministry of Transport website.
• Motor vehicle registration: vehicle registration statistics are available via the annual publication New Zealand motor vehicle registration statistics, as a monthly subscription, or as customised information. Includes ordering information.
• CAS: the Crash Analysis System. CAS is an integrated computer system that provides tools to collect, map, query and report on road crash and related data. Includes information for those interested in accessing CAS.
• Performance of land transport: Data that describes the performance of the land transport system in relation to the economic, social and environmental objectives that the government has set for land transport. Includes Network statistics.

Much of the statistical information that was published by the LTSA has moved to the research section of the Ministry of Transport's website. This includes the statistics on motor vehicle crashes in New Zealand and a range of road safety issues.
