Workplace travel plan resources

Land Transport NZ is producing a range of flexible travel planning resources that can be used when developing a workplace travel plan. These resources – mainly templates and tip sheets - can be adapted to suit your workplace (for example, by adding your organisation’s logo).

The resources will be added to this page as they become available.

Factors that every plan needs for success

Travel planning experts agree that workplace travel plans are more likely to succeed if an organisation has established the following:

  • support from the Chief Executive and management for a workplace travel plan
  • funding – implementing a travel plan costs money
  • a travel plan coordinator who is given time and resources to develop the travel plan
  • good internal communications with staff - to ensure buy-in, maintain momentum and publicise successes.

For guidance on coordinating a workplace travel plan, and the five steps in the process, see the Workplace travel plan coordinator’s guide (PDF, 518 KB).

A number of templates and tip sheets are currently being developed to help you develop a workplace travel plan. These will be added below as they become available.

No ‘one size fits all’

It is important to remember that no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to travel planning. Different resources work well in different situations.
