Part 9: Level crossings

Roadmarking is the responsibility of the road controlling authority, except where the level crossing is a private granted level crossing or a rail operations level crossing where the rail access provider is responsible.
The road controlling authority must liaise with the rail access provider before installing any new road marking in the vicinity of a level crossing.
Road marking contractors must ensure any necessary permit to enter has been obtained for any work that encroaches on the rail corridor (see Appendix C).
