8  Requirements for pedestrian and cycle level crossings

8.1  Introduction

The mitigation of risk is paramount for pedestrian and cycle level crossings. ALCAM assessment will enable these risks to be identified but experience of the rail access provider and road controlling authority of the particular intersection will also need to be included in the safety assessment.
