Conditional permit for operation of uncertified vehicles
This conditional permit applies to a vehicle to which section 6 of Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Standards Compliance 2002 ('The Rule') applies, that has not been certified for entry or re-entry into service (an 'uncertified vehicle'), and is to be operated under the conditions in 10.3 (1) and for the purposes in 10.4 of the Rule.

I am competent, and have sufficient knowledge and experience, to inspect this vehicle in accordance with the Vehicle Safety Check inspection requirements imposed by the Director under s. 5.2(1) of the Rule.
I have inspected the vehicle in accordance with the Vehicle Safety Check inspection requirements imposed by the Director under s. 5.2(1) of the Rule.
Every item in the Vehicle Safety Check has passed the inspection and I have determined that the vehicle is safe to be operated under the Rule.

Note: When an uncertified vehicle is operated on an Annex B conditional permit, a valid trade plate must be affixed, the Annex B conditional permit must be current, and the Annex B conditional permit and Annex A form must be carried in the vehicle.
Note: For distances exceeding 50 km, the uncertified vehicle must be towed or transported (or, if a heavy vehicle that can't be transported or towed, taken) to a vehicle inspector or inspecting organisation identifed in 5.2(2) of the Rule so that an Annex C conditional permit may be issued.
Note: If the port authorities allow the Vehicle Safety Check to be conducted on their premises, the uncertified vehicle may be driven from the port for a distance of no more than 50 km to the operator's business premises or to the place where an Annex C conditional permit will be issued.
